Mexican Charities focused on Education
During 2020, the SEP (Secretariat of Public Education in México) announced that schools won't be opening until we reach a "green light status"¹ (most states are in red and orange)² ³ , which, for a mainly poor population means bad news (no internet access, no electricity, etc.)
Approximately 21.4 million kids live in poverty in Mexico, 9 million have no access to education.
63% of the kids between 3 and 5 go to school but the number drops to 32.8% when they reach the ages of 15 to 24. ⁴ This numbers are getting worse because of the pandemic.⁵ ⁶
